Innovation

Since its creation by Jean Vasseur, SODEPAC has placed innovation right at the heart of its core values. The company has continuously developed innovative solutions to meet the different needs of our customers.

Our commitment to innovation can be seen in several key areas: the development of high-performance products thanks to a dedicated test laboratory, the design of new attractive designs with customers with the help of a dedicated internal marketing team and the ongoing optimisation of industrial and logistics processes.

SODEPAC and product innovation : A dedicated testing laboratory

The quest for performance and quality is pushing SODEPAC to invest in research and development.

Consequently, the company has a dedicated testing laboratory where each product is rigorously assessed before being put on the market. The job of the laboratory is to simulate various environmental conditions in order to ensure the effectiveness and durability of the humidity absorbers. Thanks to these facilities, SODEPAC can offer solutions tailored to the specific requirements of its customers, whether they are private individuals or professionals.

One of the most remarkable product innovations is the SEKODRY® range that stands out because of its exceptional performance. For example, the SEKODRY Absorber Ultra has an absorption rate of 400%, i.e. 1.2 kg of water absorbed by a 300 g bag. This technological feat is the result of the in-depth research and rigorous testing carried out in the SODEPAC laboratory.

From plastic to wood: (r)evolution and innovations

Seko is a pioneer in the wood range with its Bali model.

Innovation at the heart of Sodepac’s DNA

In 2013, Seko literally shook up the market with a ‘groundbreaking’ innovation: the Sekobag, which guarantees that no liquid will spill

In 2018, the company expanded its machine park to become even more innovative and efficient.
During recent renovations, the company relocated its laboratory, doubling its floor space.

In 2021, Seko is launching the first wooden moisture absorber, a real challenge that will revolutionise how the product is used.

Sodepac and design: teamwork

Conscious of the crucial role that design plays in making products appealing, SODEPAC takes a collaborative approach by working closely with its customers, including large-scale retailers (large food, DIY and specialised stores).

Using this co-creation approach, humidity absorbers can be designed that meet consumer expectations while respecting the technical constraints associated with the proper working order of the absorber.

To back up this approach, SODEPAC relies on its own creative unit. This dedicated team is responsible for designing and standardising the packaging products. This insourcing of the design process makes it possible to react more quickly, customise the products and packaging according to the specific needs of each customer and comply with market requirements.

Sodepac and the innovation of our industrial and logistics processes

Innovation at SODEPAC is not limited to products and packaging, it also extends to industrial and logistics processes. The company is continually investing in the modernisation of its production tools to improve productivity, quality and the working conditions of its employees.

For example, SODEPAC rolled out a €1.6 million investment plan in 2022 for the installation of new production lines and the integration of automated facilities. These improvements have not only doubled production capacity, but also reduced energy consumption and improved the ergonomics of the workstations. This proactive approach has made SODEPAC more competitive in the market while boosting its commitment to the well-being of its employees.

Innovation: a core value inherited from Jean Vasseur

Since the invention of the first humidity absorber by Jean Vasseur, innovation is embedded in SODEPAC’s DNA. This culture of innovation has been passed down from generation to generation, guiding the company’s strategic and operational decisions. Today, under the leadership of Étienne Vasseur, grandson of the founder, SODEPAC continues to place innovation at the heart of its development, with the conviction that this approach is the key to meeting the market challenges of today and tomorrow.

In conclusion, innovation at SODEPAC is manifested through a global approach that encompasses the development of high-performance products, the design of appealing packaging in collaboration with customers, and the ongoing optimisation of industrial and logistics processes. This constant commitment to innovation has enabled SODEPAC to maintain its leading position in the humidity absorber market and to offer solutions that are increasingly tailored to the needs of our customers.
