At SODEPAC, we firmly believe that your health and that of the planet are closely linked.
As a long-standing pioneer in moisture absorption, SODEPAC has been working tirelessly for over 40 years to combat damp in your homes. But this is not our only battle. In a world facing global warming and environmental and societal challenges, we are naturally committed to developing increasingly innovative and eco-responsible products, while respecting the well-being of everyone.
of our products are recyclable or biodegradable

Produce more, waste less
We are determined to make a difference. And that starts right from the design phase of a new product.
We take an eco-friendly approach to every stage of developing a moisture absorber, carefully selecting the raw materials. In fact, 50% of the annual volume of calcium chloride used by SODEPAC, the main natural raw material in the manufacture of our absorbers, is recycled waste from the production of sodium bicarbonate. We therefore reuse this waste to manufacture our refill pellets. Promoting the reuse of resources is our common goal. What’s more, our products are already environmentally friendly, as moisture absorbers do not require any energy source.
We are also reducing our carbon footprint every year by cutting down on sea transport in favour of rail transport, which is the least polluting mode of transport. In addition, we constantly monitor the environmental commitments of our four main suppliers; this is our responsibility.
It should also be noted that the company’s fleet consists entirely of French cars, including two electric cars.
Finally, reducing the volume of our waste is part of our duty. The recycling of cardboard, wood and plastic has been significantly optimised. As a result, for a turnover of €1,000, we have gone from 5.27 kg of waste in 2016 to 4.53 kg in 2018 (source: PAPREC). And things are only getting better.
The concrete results of this approach are impressive
in 2023, with Paprec, SODEPAC collected and recycled the following :
tonnes of plastic
tonnes of cardboard
tonnes of wood
tonnes of scrap metal
These efforts have helped conserve more than 2,350 m³ of water, save nearly 580 MWh of energy and significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. The company also collaborates with four places of assisted employment for disabled people (Établissements et Services d’Aide par le Travail) and a prison, which actively participate in the production of its products, thereby improving its impact on the social and solidarity economy.
Thanks to these concrete measurable commitments, SODEPAC is showing that innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. By obtaining the FSC® certification and complying with its standards, the company is taking its role as a leader committed to the ecological transition to the next level, while offering ever more sustainable solutions to its customers.
People as the driving force behind success
People are at the heart of our commitment. Every day, we work to serve millions of people and improve their health through humidity treatment. The well-being of our employees is also our priority. Above all, we offer them safe working conditions and encourage a balanced lifestyle. 95% of our 50 employees live less than 20 km from their workplace.
We work with our teams to implement social initiatives such as collecting plastic bottle caps for the charity ‘Bouchons d’Amour’ and installing the French search engine ‘Lilo’, which allows them to donate the advertising revenue they generate to a charity close to their hearts.
Planète Urgence
Why SEKO and the Planète Urgence association have been working together since 2019 to build a better world.
Planète Urgence is an international solidarity association founded in 2000 and recognised as a public utility in 2019. Its goal is to strengthen the autonomy of local populations in Africa, Asia, Mediterranean Europe, South America and the Caribbean. It is also involved in environmental protection.

- Access to adult vocational training.
- Socio-educational support for young people.
- Protection of biodiversity through reforestation projects.
- Raising awareness among local residents about environmental protection.
- The project aims to promote sustainable development in the region by implementing a series of initiatives focused on environmental protection, social inclusion, and economic development.
- 10 000 volunteers deployed
- 340 local partners
- 8 000 000 trees planted
- 112 828 school kits distributed
Each tree planted produces oxygen, helps protect wildlife and flora, regulates the water cycle, promotes climate balance, and more. This is the whole point of our recent partnership with the Planète Urgence association: to fight deforestation and preserve nature in a sustainable way.
Since 2019, our partnership with Planète Urgence has enabled the replanting of 30,000 cashew trees in Bénoué Park, in the northern region of Cameroon, Central Africa.

The Bali wooden absorber
A perfect example of our philosophy is our Bali wooden absorber, which is made from only 28% plastic compared to 100% for a standard absorber. The moisture absorber becomes a decorative accessory that is useful, attractive and environmentally friendly.
